In motorsport, there’s a moment when technology and humanity intertwine—where power and control coexist in a delicate balance, marking the thin line between victory and defeat. It’s to celebrate this moment that the Tubi Style Thunder Award was born, crafted for the World Finals of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe in Imola.

This award goes beyond simply honoring the fastest laps. It transforms into a piece of art, telling a story of strength and bravery, capturing the fragile balance between passion and risk. It’s a captivating fusion of art and engineering that sparks the imagination, evoking mythical figures.

The Thunder Award draws inspiration from the designs of artist Ruth Beraha, following a friendship that began during the creation of her previous work, the Tifone trophy. This piece centers on the heart of Motorsport, capturing the essence of the driver’s power and their relationship with technology—a force capable of taking them to the podium, yet demanding exceptional control.

The artist envisions the winner as a fleeting hero—like a mythological figure who has tamed the beast, but one that, like its rivals, remains alive and menacing, ready for the next competition.

The monster, made of living serpents, takes inspiration from mythical monsters like Medusa, Typhon, and the Hydra of Lerna. It embodies the advanced technology of Motorsport, finding its visual identity in the intricate, organic shapes of exhaust manifolds.

This projection led to a collaboration with Tubi Style, who worked with Ruth to finalize the project and bring this creation to life.

A story of enduring power…

The Thunder Award, Tubi Style’s tribute to the fastest lap in competition, is a continuation and homage to previous work. It delves into a striking detail: a lethal kiss between two serpents that are both two and one, symbolizing eternal return, the inseparability of Eros and Thanatos, love and death, the unending cycle of life and the racing circuit—a perfect metaphor for the essence of a fast lap. A kiss that is both an act of passion and a fatal gesture.

A lap where the driver challenges themselves and others, striving to catch up to those ahead, keeping the followers at bay, pushing faster and harder than ever before in that race—perhaps even faster than they’ve ever gone on that circuit.

The symbol of a strengthening bond

Tubi Style will dedicate the Thunder Award to the four drivers who achieve the fastest laps in the World Finals at Imola—a tribute to the speed, focus, and skill needed to excel in this sport. But above all, the trophy celebrates the long history of Tubi Style: for over thirty years, our exhaust systems have equipped winning Ferraris, creating that unmistakable sound—a sonic signature that echoes across tracks around the world.

Looking at the Thunder Award, you can almost hear that sound. It’s not just a trophy to admire; it’s a piece that embodies the roar of engines, the thrill of speed, and the tension of a race decided in split seconds. Like Tubi Style’s exhaust systems, the trophy is unique—a custom-made sculpture that, like every exhaust prototype, is designed to enhance performance and forge a deep connection with those who experience it.

Artist Ruth Beraha has masterfully captured this spirit. The Thunder Award is the visual and symbolic representation of the racing world: a realm of extreme power, absolute control, and the daring spark that sets champions apart. This award is a tribute not only to the winners but to all those who live and breathe the passion for racing, embodying the essence of the World Finals in Imola.

The intricate, flowing forms of the exhaust manifolds, the heart of this work, reflect the relentless pursuit of perfection that defines both Tubi Style and Ferrari. In every turn, in every straightaway, the driver and the machine become one—a fusion of flesh and metal moving with surgical precision, striving to conquer the circuit, the competition, and time itself.

The race may end, but the quest for speed and perfection never stops. Like the kiss between the two serpents, the challenge endures, and any lap could be the defining one.
